Black Soft-shell Turtle
The Black Soft-shelled Turtle or Bostami Turtle is a species of freshwater turtle found in India and Bangladesh . It was for long believed to be inbred individuals of the Ganges Soft-shelled Turtle or the Peacock Soft-shelled Turtle , but while it is a close relative of the latter it is a good and distinct species.
Abingdon Island Tortoise
Lonesome George (Spanish: Solitario Jorge) is the last known individual of the Pinta Island Tortoise, subspecies Geochelone nigra abingdoni, one of eleven subspecies of Galápagos tortoise native to the Galápagos Islands. He has been labelled the rarest creature in the world, and is a potent symbol for conservation efforts in the Galápagos and internationally.
Seychelles giant tortoise
The Seychelles giant tortoise (Dipsochelys hololissa) has been thought to be extinct since the mid-19th century due to over-exploitation on the granitic Seychelles islands. Similar giant tortoise species on other Indian Ocean islands such as Mauritius, Réunion and Rodrigues Island had also gone extinct.
