In this lesson students will explore environmentally friendly products. They will use the resources of EekoWorld as they learn about air pollution, water pollution, and how their actions can have an impact on the earth. They will conduct Internet research, create an advertisement for an eco-friendly consumer product, and stage a class presentation.

This exercise takes students through a set of stations containing everyday products. Students are challenged to consider the hidden costs to the planet when selecting a product. At the conclusion, students can discuss their choices, tally up which items have the lowest cost to the planet and then learn from the teacher what costs they may have overlooked.

This project could be started as a competition between the different science classes in one grade to find the winning proposal and action plan. Once the proposal is presented/accepted, the entire school can implement the action plan together.
